Dalin graduated in architecture. She is interested in the growth of the country and the impact of the development to nature and human. She captivated by the use of construction materials to create installation art by turning these materials into another perspective of her expression. She wants to bring her architectural experiences and what she can do to create a structural architecture form that at the same time appear like an artwork for a purpose of connecting architecture with art. During the residency, Dalin gives herself a freedom to use her invention spirit and imagination of what she has seen, felt and what her material could represent.

She was moved by a dream of a very long steel rebar that was moving so fast like a snake. She turns the meaning of that dream into an art form in which she merges 165 abstracts human form standing in a row with their head connected as one formed a body of a snake laying on the ground with a top view of the map of Cambodia. It was filled with cement and a thousand pieces of rocks, showing the feeling of stuck in the inside. She studied the character of the snake, the steel and the cement to create a feeling that she has over the place she lives.

She continued expanding the connection of her architecture material with many things includes Khmer Folklore. Poun Phnom Ksach was believed and followed by Khmer people over a century for the meaning of throwing away people’s bad karma through the sand with some money was half-buried in the sand. As thousands of people go to bury their karma into the sand, this practicing gives her the picture of many things that have been buried silently. By contract, she creates a sand mountain made of steel with many small abstract human forms. Those steel reminding of many big constructions that have built all over the country living many impacts and hardships on poverty.
