Tes Vannorng
Cambodia
Tes Vannorng (b. 1989, Cambodia-Thai border) lives and works in Battambang province. Studied at Phare Ponleu Selpak, Vannorng has strong interest in human rights and women issues. She has taught art at Battambang’s Pannasastra International School, and has worked as gallery assistant at Sangker Art Space & Gallery. She joined Memory Workshop with artist Sera Ing at Bophana Center in 2012, and has been participating in Giant Puppet Project since 2013, an annual awareness raising parade in Siem Reap.
Her group exhibitions include "Art Exhibition to Support Kantha Bopha Hospital" at The Cloud (2016), "Sangker River" at Sangker Art Space & Gallery (2015), "Time To Think" at Romeet Contemporary Art Space (2014), "Her Open Eyes" and "Human Rights," both at Sangker Art Space & Gallery (2013 & 2012), "Mekong River" travelling exhibition in 5 provinces around Mekong (2012), and "Good Man" travelling exhibition to 11 provinces in Cambodia (2011).
Tes Vannorng's residency is supported by Foundation for Art Initiatives (FfAI).
Heak Pheary
Cambodia
Heak Pheary (b. 1990, Battambang, Cambodia) works with mixed media and her works usually deal with issues of environment and discard, and collective attitude towards them. Pheary was Manager at Sammaki Community Arts, where she organised exhibitions, workshops, and taught art classes for children. She has done numerous art workshops with hundreds of children, including with the US Embassy, high schools, and several NGOs in Battambang. Her group exhibitions include “Khmer Portrait,” at the Royal University of Fine Arts, Phnom Penh (2013); “Her Open Eyes” and “Human Rights,” both at Sammaki Community Arts, Battambang (2013 & 2012); “Mekong Impact,” a travelling exhibition to 5 provinces around Mekong (2012); and “Collaboration,” at Make Maek Gallery, Battambang (2012). Pheary graduated from Phare Ponleu Selpak’s Visual Arts School in 2013, and Yamada School of Art in 2014. Pheary lives and works in Battambang and Phnom Penh.
