Kong Channa

Cambodia

Kong Channa explores the complex history and ongoing transformation of Cambodia. His practice is heavily rooted in Performance Art, a medium he uses to directly confront themes of trauma and resilience, especially those connected to the 'Killing Fields' era. For Channa, performance is a vital tool for making painful, historical memories tangible and shared for a contemporary audience.

His work began at the Reyum Institute, which laid the foundation for his focus on public dialogue. Beyond performance, Channa engages with community through large-scale projects like mural painting, grounding his conceptual concerns in tangible, everyday environments. Ultimately, his diverse body of work aims to provoke deep reflection on the nation's past while acknowledging its present reality.
