Open Studio: Office of Community Art
During the five online workshop sessions, participants learned and discussed ideas about how to improve their respective urban surrounding and communities. They explored how artistic ideas can engage directly with social issues. They are introduced to Francisco Camacho Herrera's concept of Associative Art Practices, which use artistic tools to generate participation, through a long-term and non-hierarchical collaboration.
The participants also considered strategies in engaging with people in sharing knowledge, co-authoring projects, and creating under-communities or "alter-communities" in the spirit of reorganising what is not recognised and thus engaging reform. Participants had an opportunity to learn case studies and developed their own projects and campaigns, producing posters about how to improve their communities and places.
