This lecture discusses a kind of spirit or Tep which is not visible nor known to be in any exact place, but they could cause harm. Two examples will be explored: Preah Phum and Yeay Mao.

About Anthropologist

Dr. Ang Choulean (b. 1949, Siem Reap) is a Cambodian anthropologist. He holds a BA in archaeology (1974), an MA (1976), and a PhD degree (1982) in anthropology in France. He is a professor of historical anthropology at Royal University of Fine Arts and formerly the director of the department of culture of APSARA, the Cambodian management authority responsible for protecting the archaeological park of Angkor. He was the second Cambodian who won the Grand Prize of Fukuoka Prize from Japan in 2011.
