Possibility, Transferring, Passing
Graduate Exhibition of Contemporary and Documentary Photography Class 2019
Friday, 6 Dec 2019, 6:00-8:00pm
This exhibition is a concluding result of the Contemporary and Document Photography Class 2019, as part of Sa Sa Art Projects’ education program. The class still kept the same concept of sharing and learning from each other. This year, we explored the possibilities of photography and beyond. Critical thinking was still a key method to challenge the students to explore photography and visual art language.
The participants explored and experimented with ways to visualise their ideas and realised new bodies of work. We all in the class learned as they developed their thinking and visualisation. Each had a unique process in the development of their respective works. They presented their progress to the class and together we critiqued and shared ideas as they continued to develop their own paths.
After the five month class, eleven thoughtful works are presented here in this exhibition. Together they introduce diverse concerns and photographic approaches. From personal experiences and family relationship and heritage to urban changes, environment, and society, the participants challenge to possibilities of photography extending to installation, performance, video, and a handmade photo book.
